Oh, sad, sad day. George Carlin died yesterday at about 6 p.m. in Los Angeles. Heart Problems, which had been ongoing.
Dammit, I’m going to miss him and his Stuff.
Do you remember his “Seven Filthy Words?” A regulatory battle raged over his radio broadcast of the “Filthy Words” routine and ultimately made it to the U.S. Supreme Court.
I got to see him when he came to Gainesville a few years ago. Didn’t care too much for the guy who bought me a ticket, but Carlin was so funny that I was crying laughing. That man could deliver a line like nobody else!

I got to see him live once, too, about a million years ago. I’ve watched numerous HBO specials, too. He was a funny, funny guy in a way that was like no other. I guess it was the delivery from that mobile face … and his sounds … and the jokes were always great …

Wow, a blast from my past. Sad news, but still, a life well-lived, I reckon.
