Origins of the swine flu

Made you laugh!

I know this is serious business, we’re up to our armpits in alerts at work.  The California Health Alert Network actually called my home phone last night.  10:30 on a Sunday night.  It was so exciting!

Or not, it was just a recording telling me to go look at my email.  They’d bumped up the alert status.  Still, it gave me a thrill to be part of it.

  1. Beth says:

Mmmm, bacon. I read it’s okay to eat bacon and pork products, we just have to quit porking for the interim. 🙂
I’m not sure if I’d miss bacon or porking more.

    Are you buying that?
This picture, BTW, has been posted 9 kazillion times now. We should be seeing a lot of it around.

  2. Maybe this is the swine flu they got all excited about 33 years ago. If so, those of us who got shot then will probably have some small amount of residual immunity. Which means we will get sick, maybe, but not die of it. The virus is behaving like the 1918 flu, killing young adults rather than the elderly and children. It seems like it kills by immune system storm. It really is alarming how quickly it has spread. I hope they have a better handle on it this time.
